Vintage Egyptian Revival Vase

vintage decorative vessel channels the drama of Egyptian Revival design with its tall amphora-inspired silhouette, twin handles, antiqued golden finish and vivid hand-painted accents of cobalt blue, red, yellow and green.  Raised geometric bands frame stylized motifs reminiscent of ancient Egyptian lotus and ornamental forms, while the softly distressed surface gives the entire vessel the look of an artifact discovered rather than simply displayed.  Turn it around and the design changes — one side featuring a dramatic blue-and-gold curved motif, another a stylized green and yellow floral or papyrus-inspired emblem. The sculptural handles and diamond-patterned neck add yet another layer of texture.  It is wonderfully unusual, wonderfully decorative and exactly the sort of piece that becomes the thing everyone asks about.  Approximate Era  Circa 1970s–1990s  Unsigned/unmarked as shown. The finish displays variations, rubbing and areas of darker coloration consistent with both the decorative treatment and vintage use. Minor wear is visible around the rim
