Art Deco Czech Style Faux Jade Green Enamel Rhinestone Brooch Repair 1920s
Unbranded
Art Deco-era jewelry piece featuring a large mottled pale-green faux-jade center surrounded by emerald-green faceted rhinestones, pale green enamel accents, applied spiral/scroll details, and geometric gold-tone metalwork. The combination of imitation jade, colored glass, enamel, and separately applied decorative metal elements is consistent with Czech/Czechoslovakian costume jewelry produced during the Art Deco period, particularly the 1920s1930s. This piece is unmarked, however, so Czech origin is an attribution based on style and construction and is not presented as confirmed. The large center appears to be an imitation-jade material. It does not feel or sound like stone when handled and may be an early molded plastic or another faux-jade material. It has not been tested, so no specific material such as Bakelite, Galalith, or celluloid is being claimed. The dark emerald-green accent stones appear to be faceted glass/rhinestones. Pale green enamel accents remain visible around the border. The reverse shows the original construction and remnants/attachment areas from what appears to have been brooch hardware. The original pin mechanism is missing, and the piece is therefore being sold as found for collection, restoration, repair, assemblage, or jewelry design. Unsigned. Metal content is unknown and has not been tested. Condition: Pre-owned vintage/antique condition with age-related surface wear, patina, scratches, finish variation, and missing brooch hardware.
