Simplified Fly Fishing S.R. Slaymaker II

Sam Slaymaker believes that fly fishing is not more difficult to learn than other methods of fishing, contrary to popular opinion. In fact, he guarantees to have the beginner on the water and fishing with flies in half an hour. Every step in the conversion from worm-dragger to dry-fly artist is fully explained by this experienced fisherman and outdoor writer, and the line drawing by the well-known outdoor artist, Ned Smith, make the author's instructions even clearer. In addition to giving pointers on how to think like a fish instead of a fisherman, the book covers the choosing of beginning equipment; the basic types of flies; the art of casting; playing and landing fish; and high and low, warm- and salt-water fishing. This is a book for the bait caster or spin-fisherman who has shied away from the sport of fly fishing for fear it would be too difficult to master, as well as being a book for the non-fisherman who wants to learn to fish with flies.
